Believe it or not, we’re just a few weeks away from the CTIA trade show and this is one of the major mobile shows for the U.S. market. Samsung is already trying to create some buzz. On its Facebook page, the company is teasing a new Galaxy Tab for the show.
There’s not much to the Samsung tease, as it just says, “What’s your Tab life?” and gives the date for its press conference (March 22nd). This is barely a month after the company introduced the Galaxy Tab 10.1 with a larger screen and Android 3.0 Honeycomb.
The CTIA announcement could be the Galaxy Tab 10.1 being officially picked up by a carrier and given a launch date. Remember, the original Galaxy Tab was eventually picked up by AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon and U.S. Cellular.
Of course, Samsung has also said that it will continue to iterate its Galaxy Tab lineup and we’ve heard rumors that it will have an 8.9-inch Galaxy Tab in the not-too-distant future. This would match the G Slate in size and it may make the device more portable.
The Samsung Galaxy tablet should be on of many tablet announcements we get at the CTIA event. I’m hoping that this will be the place where we finally get a solid price and real release date of the Research In Motion BlackBerry PlayBook. This device was introduced nearly 6 months ago, so it’s time to see this thing hit the market already.
Sprint is also expected to have a big show and we may see it introduce a tablet as well. We’ve heard the name EVO 4G View being bandied about and this may be the HTC Flyer we saw at last month’s Mobile World Congress with some customization.
Whatever happens, you can be sure that the IntoMobile team will be at the show giving you the latest news.
