At the same time the first update for Windows Phone is landing on handsets, the next version of Windows Phone known as Mango is making the rounds of the rumor mill – first in a video spotted on YouTube and then in a recent presentation by Microsoft.

A recent YouTube video showed off the features of NoDo running on the older Windows Mobile-powered HTC HD2. The video itself is standard run-of-the-mill fare until the end of the video when another handset is spotted running what could be an early version of Mango. The handset spied in the video includes an extra search button that is not present in the original version of Windows Phone or the NoDo update. If it is not in NoDO or the original WP7, then it is reasonable to assume it is a feature that will debut in the Mango update.

Earlier this year, Microsoft released early information about its long-term Mango update including a new version of IE for the mobile operating system, multi-tasking and tight integration of Twitter into the people hub. Microsoft has wasted no time in demonstrating these new features and did so in grand style recently at CEBIT. The Redmond company took to the stage and previewed Mango on a gigantic 234-inch touchscreen display. This display is reportedly the largest of its kind and features a Kinect-like interface.

Both the NoDo/Mango video and the Microsoft presentation are embedded below.
