Our good friends at Rogers dropped us a note earlier today, letting us know that they’ve successfully expanded their network in Manitoba. Yes, folks from Winnipeg to Winnipegosis (hope somebody gets that joke) should enjoy higher speeds and improved performance.

The network expansion means that good folks in places like Thompson, Flin Flon, and The Pas will be able to enjoy the high-speed network. Increased download speeds, increased signal strength and overall improvements to voice call quality are just a few of the things Manitobans should notice going forward.

Darrell Graham, Rogers Manitoba Vice President commented on the news:

“Welcome to the world of choice, speed and innovation, Manitoba…Customers have been telling us they want a faster network in more places and more selection of mobile devices. They want to connect in a way that makes their lives better and easier. Starting today, Manitobans from across the province can fuel their passions by switching to Rogers and connect – in high speed, on the device they want – to what matters to them most.”

As a result of the expansion, new and exciting devices will become available in the province as well. Look for new Android and BlackBerry devices to hop on the scene in the near future.

For folks in Winnipeg, Portage, Brandon and everywhere else in our fair province… stay tuned for more.
