It was only a year ago when Wyse Technology’s PocketCloud started supporting Android devices, which it started to support Android tablet devices, such as the Samsung Galaxy Tab, to offer users a better remote desktop experience on their Android tablet devices. PocketCloud has certainly come a long way from its humble beginnings on iOS to being the first remote desktop app that supports Android 3.0 Honeycomb tablets in its latest update.
Wyse’s PocketCloud 1.2 update for Android devices is said to bring performance enhancements to all Android devices, but this update also has been rebuilt to take advantage of the new UI in Android 3.0 as it takes much of its inspiration from the new UI as well as taking full advantage of the larger screen. PocketCloud 1.2 also has an Auto Discovery tool that allows users to find their computers easier by communicating with the PocketCloud companion software installed on your PCs or Macs.
I have to say that this update seems to be one that any owner of an Android 3.0 Honeycomb supported tablet should take a look at if they’re serious about their remote desktop experience. I use remote desktop apps on a daily basis as I bark orders to my laptop connected in my office from the comfort of my luxurious bath tub. I don’t know about you, but when I’ve had a long day of reading pitches on upcoming apps and receiving expensive, gold-plated freebies from various companies, nothing beats a good soak in the tub with my tablet in hand.
