Microsoft confirmed both the February update and the March NoDo update for Windows Phone are ready to roll out to the HTC Surround in the coming weeks. This release is prepped and ready to roll for both the AT&T Surround and the Deutsche Telekom version of the handset. Good news for AT&T fans as the release of this update now brings the NoDo release to all of AT&T’s Windows Phone handsets.

Earlier this month, the NoDo release landed on the Samsung Focus and the LG Quantum. Unlike earlier maintenance releases which produced bricked Samsung handsets, this latest rollout proceeded smoothly. The two updates slated to land on the HTC Surround include a February pre-update which was a maintenance release and the March NoDo release whose salient feature was copy and paste.

The next version of Windows Phone, called Mango, is expected to bring significant improvements to the Microsoft’s mobile platform. Possibly landing later this year, Mango will include a new mobile browser-based on the IE 9 engine, Twitter integration into the Peoples Hub, multi-tasking and improved SkyDrive support for Office documents. Hopes are high for this next Windows Phone version, let’s hope it rolls out smoothly and in a timely fashion.

Now that NoDo is on its way, perhaps the HTC Surround has caught your eye. If you want to find out more about this handset, check out our full review here.
