[Update: We’ve extended this contest until May 13th at 11:59pm PT. Please feel free to submit your entry from now until then.]

If you’re an app publisher or developer then you’ll be excited to hear this week we’re giving app publishers & developers some love with a free Qualcomm MDP up for grabs. The Qualcomm MDP (Mobile Development Platform) Android development phone packs the powerful dual-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon processor – something you won’t find on market just yet – and crams in every imaginable smartphone bell and whistle (NFC, GPS, video chat camera, etc.). Even better, you might just be lucky enough to win one of these $1,350 development phones.

Qualcomm is on a mission to equip developers with the tools that they’ll need to make some truly whiz-bang apps. The Qualcomm MDP (or Mobile Development Platform) is a handset that was produced in order to help developers and publishers get the most out of their apps, and, more importantly, test the apps on a smartphone that offers all the latest tech. It sports a 1.5GHz MSM8660 dual-core processor, a 3.80 inch WVGA multi-touch capacitive touchscreen, the new Adreno 220 GPU, dual cameras with a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera, WiFi, Bluetooth, FM, GPS, HDMI-out, microSD card slot, Dolby multi-channel audio-out capabilities, Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS, and an embedded accelerometer and gyroscope.

This video sheds some more light on the Qualcomm dual-core Snapdragon MDP:
