LG Revolution officially launching on Verizon tomorrow

We had a pretty solid feeling that the LG Revolution would be launching tomorrow, but today we just got the official confirmation.  The pricetag will sit at a whopping $249.99 on a two-year contract. May 26 is shaping up to be a big day for Verizon, as they’ll also be launching the HTC Trophy, the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play, and the Motorola Droid X2.

LTE is the big selling point for the LG Revolution, but there’s a lot of good stuff going for it: a 4.3-inch 800 x 480 display, 5 megapixel camera with flash on the back capable of 720p video recording, VGA camera on the front, a 1 GHz Snapdragon processor, Wi-Fi b/g/n with mobile hotspot and DLNA support, Bluetooth 3.0, and GPS. The last time we looked at it, the Revolution was running Android 2.2, with an upgrade to 2.3 Gingerbread in the works. Skype and Netflix are both preloaded to take advantage of the high-speed data (between 5-12 Mbps down, 2-5 Mbps up). Take a look at our hands-on video to see how she runs.

While it might not have a dual-core processor, it will be the first to do voice over LTE, which is a pretty significant milestone in making it the new industry standard. The Samsung Droid Charge is another tempting 4G LTE alternative on Verizon, but if you’re looking for something a little more svelte, the LG Revolution will probably be a good choice.

Keep an eye on Verizon’s online store for availability starting tomorrow.
