Do you own a Droid X? And have you been wondering whether Verizon had totally neglected you in terms of Android goodies? It looks like you may be in luck as Android 2.3 Gingerbread may be headed your way soon. Verizon has just put up the changelog for it, so the update could be coming any day now. Don’t hold your breath, though, since the carrier didn’t include any official release dates.
It’s good to see that some older devices are being brought up to speed with Android Gingerbread. It has been a concern of Android fans for some time now that fragmentation will continue to be a problem, and that most older devices will be forgotten and left behind. Verizon, who happens to have a prolific portfolio of Android devices, doesn’t seem to think that it should be the case with its own devices.
Once we hear that the update is hitting devices, presumably over-the-air, or OTA, we’ll let you know!
