It’s a beautiful thing when older hardware gets graced with newer software. The Motorola Droid X for Verizon is the older hardware in this case, and it is now receiving a push update for Android Gingerbread, or version 2.3. It took some time, but Droid users might have been expecting a longer wait due to the Droid X’s custom user interface – Motoblur.
The update should be available now via OTA updates, but if you haven’t received it yet and you’re growing impatient, hit Menu>Settings>About phone>System updates and you should find it there.
A newer version of Motoblur should be in the updates along with a few new features, so get to updating and let us know how it turns out for you!
