Web browser maker Maxthon is teaming-up Plurk to launch a special (and free) version of the Maxthon Mobile browser for Android that enables Plurk members to send messages (so called “plurks”), post comments, send photos and follow fellow users on the leading micro-blogging sites in Taiwan and Southeast Asia.
In addition, all other features of Maxthon Mobile are there as well, including cloud syncing, RSS reader widget, Speed Dial (for quick access to the “best sites on the web”), Download Manager, Super Gesture and more.
Plurk comes preloaded on certain handsets in Asia. For instance, I happen to spot it on an HTC Android smartphone for the Vietnamese market and in that sense this is a huge win for Maxthon, which competes with the likes of Opera Software. You can download Plurk’s app for your Android smartphone from a link below.
But before I let you go, we also have Jeff Chen’s (Maxthon’s Founder and CEO) words to share. He said: “Our customized version of Maxthon Mobile for Plurk is another example of this phenomenon: we develop solutions based on the needs of individuals, focusing on how – and when – people choose to go online.”
