Chillingo surpasses 140 million downloads in the AppStore

Chillingo announced that it has surpassed 140 million game downloads across iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad since the App Store launched in June 2008. It’s a big win for the company which used to be known as the original publisher of Angry Birds. Later on, after EA bought Chillingo, Rovio decided to take an independent route and publish Angry Birds games by itself.

Today, Chillingo is probably best known as a publisher of Cut the Rope, one of the best selling iOS games released to date. Moreover, the company keeps co-operating with smaller indie developers.

Commenting on the news, Chillingo’s Co-General manager Chris Byatte said: “We’ve been able to publish phenomenal games for iOS that millions of players have loved and enjoyed, and we look forward to strengthening our ties with the growing indie developer community as they evolve and bring even more exciting titles to the App Store.”
