Well, that didn’t take long. The best Android Honeycomb tablet to grace the planet is getting suited up for some carrier-branded versions, and it looks like we may see one hit AT&T sometime in the near future if we’re lucky. While the device could easily go up north to good ol’ Canadia, (yes, I said it.) we can only hope that this is just the beginning of the four major US carriers receiving 3G/4G variants of the Tab 10.1.
So far, the only Galaxy Tab 10.1 that we do know that will be hitting a US carrier is for Verizon, and that was because of a slip-up. If the Galaxy Tab is indeed destined to hit AT&T, the carrier is building an arsenal of awesome Android tablet devices that may land sometime this summer. So far we’ve seen the Sony S1 and S2 tablets and the Acer Iconia Tab hit the FCC rocking AT&T bands, and adding Samsung’s latest device to the mix will certainly help.
The Galaxy Tab 10.1 is easily the best Android tablet we’ve ever see, as it’s about as powerful as devices of its kind come, and it’s kept in a super thin and light package. Just looking at the device isn’t enough to be impressive, as it’s design is minimal. It’s when you pick it up that you’re pleasantly surprised and the blazing fast NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core processor doesn’t hurt, either.
While we have yet to get word about other carriers, we can only hope that T-Mobile and Sprint variants of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 will land at the FCC sometime soon. Samsung has done a great job at blanketing its products on virtually every carrier, and we hope to see the same thing come from its best tablet to date. Now if Sammy would only announce the US availability for the Galaxy S 2, we’d sleep better at night.
