AT&T has just announced that it will be the exclusive carrier for the Sony S2 dual-screen Android tablet. The device is running Android 3.0 Honeycomb, and features two 5.5-inch 1024 x 480 touchscreen displays. Under the hood, the Sony S2 packs an NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core processor. While the S2 is labeled as a “4G” device, it won’t be running on AT&T’s coming LTE network. Instead, it will be compatible with the carrier’s HSPA+ network.
How much will the Sony S2 set you back? No word on pricing yet, unfortunately, and AT&T expects to get this thing out to market some time this fall before the holiday season hits. See the press release below for more details.

The “Sony Tablet” S2 will be 4G**capable and Wi-Fi compatible. With a qualifying data plan, users of the “Sony Tablet” S2 will have access to AT&T’s mobile broadband network and unlimited access to AT&T’s more than 20,000 hot spots nationwide. With both 4G and Wi-Fi, users can browse the Internet, access digital content including videos, games, and check e-mail, while on the go, nearly anytime.
