T-Mobile and the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim (I still hate that extra long name) are teaming up to provide ball park goers the chance to rent a 4G tablet like the LG G Slate or the Samsung Galaxy Tab for $10 per game.
You may be thinking that tablets and baseball may be an odd mix but you have to remember that there’s more downtime in baseball than with other sports, so users will have time to take advantage of what a tablet can offer during the game. The $10 rental will get you a G Slate or Galaxy Tab with T-Mobile connectivity, a free game-day program, free content from Zinio’s magazine app, T-Mobile TV with access to streaming shows and all the other goodies you’d get from a tablet.
“T-Mobile’s Android tablets, combined with America’s Largest 4G Network™, give Angels fans customized content for an affordable price when they rent a tablet during Angels games,” said Darrin Silveria, vice president general manager, Southern California, T-Mobile USA, in a prepared statement. “We’re always excited to bring T-Mobile customers unique offerings that they can’t find elsewhere, and that’s exactly what we’re doing for Angels fans who rent a tablet.”
I guess that $10 isn’t too bad for hours of entertainment, as that’s likely less than it costs to buy a large beer. You have to wonder how greasy these things will be after a few games though.
