BlackBerry Torch 9860 spotted with AT&T branding

Verizon and Sprint aren’t the only ones getting some of the new BlackBerry goodness. The BlackBerry Torch 9860 was spotted recently with AT&T branding clear as day on the unannounced device’s wallpaper. Of course, that’s easy enough to manually put in, and there’s no AT&T logo on the device itself, but seeing as the leaked spec sheets pointed to their 3G bands, it’s safe to assume AT&T will be picking this one up. There also seemed to be a version supporting T-Mobile’s AWS bands along with some supportive whispers. That said, a launch across all major U.S. carriers is entirely likely.

The BlackBerry Torch 9860 will have the biggest screen and the highest display resolution RIM has pumped out to date (3.7 inches and 800 x 480). It will also pack a near-field communication chip, magnetic compass, portable Wi-Fi hotspot function, 1.2 Ghz processor and 768 MB of RAM like its QWERTY-totin’ cousin, the Bold 9900/30.

RIM has traditionally been really good about “constructive alignment” with partners like carriers, so I’m guessing that their OS 7 devices will get pumped out through many channels all at once. Whether that will produce any shock and awe among consumers is another question altogether, but it’ll certainly make for a good time among BlackBerry loyalists.
