Pandigital is a little known tablet maker which is seemingly trying hard to differentiate its products from all those cheap Chinese tablets out there. Their idea is to partner with GetJar and offer users a wide selection of free apps and games out of box.
Under the terms of the deal, GetJar will be pre-installed on every new Pandigital tablet, starting with the recently announced Pandigital Planet, Pandigital Nova and Pandigital Star tablets in the U.S.
GetJar’s app catalog spans a number of categories including Education, Social & Messaging, Entertainment, Finance, Food, Games, Health, Search, Lifestyle, Maps, Music, News & Weather, Photos, Productivity, Religion, Shopping, Sports and Travel — meaning pretty much everyone will be able to find something interesting.
Kinda neat and inexpensive strategy for Pandigital, though I’m not sure it will actually work. We’ll see…
Finally we have the words of Pandigital’s Neil Yarian to add – he said: “GetJar is the perfect addition to our new tablet line that offers users a choice in devices that best fit into their digital lifestyle – whether they are a student, a busy mom, a professional, or all three.”
