Foursquare for iOS updated with in-line pictures

Foursquare‘s location check-in app for iPhone has had a bit of a layout shuffle, and now includes shared pictures in-line with check-ins from friends – no need to tap through to see what they’re sharing.

At its core, Foursquare is a social network that enables you to share where you are, leave tips about your favourite haunts, and discover new destinations. Wrapped in that are game elements, in which you gain points every time you check in to a place, and are placed in a leaderboard among your buddies. Locations also have mayorship status which is earned through loyalty, and further incentivized by businesses which offer perks to mayors. It’s a bit less creepy than the real-time tracking of Google Latitude, but still plugs into the major social networks like twitter and Facebook.

Android and BlackBerry apps are next in line for this in-line picture feature, and all three apps are due to get a new lists feature soon, but until then, iPhone owners can pick up the latest update at the link below.
