You’ve probably heard about Corning, the glass specialists behind the Gorilla Glass product. Heck, you may’ve seen their fancy promo video, demonstrating the future with a ton of glass around.
However, you may not know that they operate a Museum of Glass which got its Android app. As you can guess, the application will guide you through the museum, outlining the history and the potential future of glass. Not sure whether Apple’s future HQ is included, but at some point it will/should be, thanks to its lack of corners.
There is also one strange thing about this app – it’s not free. I would assume this would be a part of Corning’s marketing activities, but I would be wrong. Maybe their idea is to have Museum paying for itself or something like that.
In any case, it’s good to see Corning thinking outside of the box, generating buzz around its products which may not excite people all that much — at least when they are sold separately.
