We all know that the StubHub app is a great way to buy tickets for sporting events but the company will be updating its iPhone, Android and Windows Phone apps this Thursday to include mobile ticketing. With this update, the StubHub app will be your one-stop solution for finding and buying tickets as well, as your entry into the game.

As you can see from the video below, the Stubhub folks are teaming with the San Francisco Giants for the first roll out and it hopes to have other MLB and other venues follow soon. It will take some additional investment from the venue to handle this type of barcode scanning but it’s somewhat inevitable.

The slick-looking StubHub app will let you find tickets for sporting and other events and this update will let you download the ticket directly to your device so you don’t have to bother with printing stuff out. As a person who goes to a lot of sports game, I could definitely appreciate this feature.

Unfortunately, the experience isn’t as seamless as it could and will be in the future. First of all, they have to show the full ticket for legal reasons, so the user has to zoom in on the barcode. Additionally, not all of the staff there is fully up to date on how to scan the tickets.

Still, the updated StubHub app with mobile ticketing is pretty darn cool and it will only be a matter of time before more arenas and venues accept it. The free app is available now on all the major app markets and the update on Thursday will bring the mobile ticketing option.

Go Giants.
