What’s the deal with patents? [Infographic]

Oh, patents. The thing that most average consumers don’t care about is has become a major issue in the mobile world and the good folks at BusinessInsurance.org have thrown together an infographic to help explain what is is and how the patent wars started.

With nearly every mobile company involved in some form of patent battle, the issue is not as easy as some would like to make it out to be. There are legitimate reasons for patents but maybe these do need to be tweaked for the software age. Oh well, check out the infographic below for a good primer on the patent wars. Sadly, I know we’ll be writing about this for a while.
