Samsung Omnia

The FCC filings have been getting our hopes up for a North American release of the Samsung Omnia, but the latest docs are actually pointing for South America.
The i900L is due for Venezuela (although more likely Brazil since it’s on the 2100 band), but definitely shows that Samsung’s answer to the iPhone is creeping its way to American shores soon. There are still plenty holding out for the i907, supposedly coming to AT&T, and the i910 for Verizon. Specs include:

  • Wireless: stereo Bluetooth (A2DP), WiFi
  • Display: 3.2-inch WQVGA (240×400 pixels) touchscreen
  • Camera: 5 megapixels with auto-focus, featuring face and smile detection as well as auto-panorama shots
  • OS/UI: Windows Mobile 6.1 with Samsung’s widget-friendly TouchWiz user interface running on top of it
  • CPU: Marvell 624MHz
  • Other: built-in GPS, accelerometer for auto-rotation, optical mouse
  • Memory: 8GB and 16GB models, that can further be expanded with microSD memory cards
