The HTML5 Dev Con is right around the corner and the conference on the future of the web and mobile just announced a few new speakers and a sure-to-be-fun hackathon.
The hackathon will take place Sept. 24 and 25 in San Francisco at Eventbrite’s headquarters (651 Brannan Street Suite 110, San Francisco, CA) and it will have a special focus on social and mobile gaming. Game developers will be able to hack on a variety of application programming interfaces including Sibblingz’s Spaceport platform (for high-performance, cross-platform games/app with Flash-like API using JavaScript), Eventbrite, Crowdstar, MongoDB, Yahoo, Google, Node.js, and more.
Newly-announced speakers for the conference on Sept. 27 will include:
David Herman of Mozilla is defining the next generation features of the JavaScript language.
· Jason A. Hoffman, Founder and Chief Scientist, Joyent (node.js) and Frank Greco, Director of Technology, Americas at Kaazing,have been at the forefront of HTML5 cross-platform cloud technology.
· Representatives from Nokia will speak about the company’s plans to leverage HTML5.
