Android Ice Cream Sandwich first look [VIDEO]

A leak that we’ve been expecting for some time has finally arrived, and that’s Android Ice Cream Sandwich. A two-minute video has been found and apparently someone purchased a Nexus S off of eBay and it was somehow running Ice Cream Sandwich. The guy took his camera and here you have it. The video showcases some of the upcoming features that will debut on the next version of the mobile operating system, as you might expect, and its looking pretty snazzy.

The video is short and to the point and we get to see some of the nice new features Ice Cream Sandwich will offer its users. The familiar Honeycomb lockscreen, widget layout, and multitasking view have been beautifully scaled to fit smaller displays. Another small tweak you can notice is that there are now four items surrounding the application drawer instead of just two.

While I’ve been quite excited for Ice Cream Sandwich, I must say, even though what we do see in the video is pretty nice, this version of Android seems a bit underwhelming. Of course, we’re sure there’s plenty more to see within the update, and it may be a bit harsh to say that the update seems underwhelming, especially after only seeing two minutes of it. Also, while it does bring a nice spit shine across the OS, we’ve got to say that Gingerbread may be the more underwhelming update between the two.

We’re sure that Google has quite a few more treats hiding in its next version of Android, and I wouldn’t be surprised if these features were centered around applications. Be it a Google Music store or something else, it wouldn’t be hard to believe that Google has something up its sleeve, especially when Ice Cream Sandwich is to be the search giant’s most ambitious update to date.

With only a few short weeks left before the official announcement, we’ve got a lot to look forward to in the Android space. With the new version of the OS comes a new Nexus handset that we can’t wait to see. Who knows, we may see it at CTIA. Actually, we’re counting on it.

So do you like what you see in the video below, or do you think the good stuff will be coming in Android Jelly Bean?
