Poynt updated for Windows Phone Mango

Poynt, my favouritest location-based search app in the whole wide world, has just updated for Windows Phone 7.5, better known as Mango. The new version now has dedicated tiles for each category, so you can jump right into restaurant, gas, movie, weather, business, or people search right from the home screen. Poynt also plugs into Bing searches now, so you can drill into a Poynt entry for more detailed information.

Poynt has always been really good about providing tailored experiences for each of their search categories; movie entries show the nearest theatres playing, trailers, reviews, and the ability to buy tickets right from your phone. Business look-ups include maps for turn-by-turn directions, and quick access to phone calls. The app is available on every major smartphone platform now, and it’s good to see it’s keeping up on Windows Phone.

Poynt is one of our top picks for Windows Phone apps, and definitely worth a gander if you need something more than just basic information from your local searches. Head on over to m.poynt.com in your Windows Phone’s browser to get downloading, or find it in the Marketplace.
