This isn’t what we would call “pure” mobile news but since we’re talking about an Android-powered device, we decided to give it some space on IntoMobile, nonetheless. The device is Casio VX-100, which is an EPOS terminal that can be used with such applications as customer relationship management, reservation management and sales management to provide business operators with a variety of data that they can use to “stimulate business demand.”

Set to begin shipping this December, the VX-100 is equipped with a color main display with full touchscreen operation, a sub-display for showing information to customers, and a built-in thermal printer to generate receipts. As such, it is designed for use in SME retail stores, and works as both a standalone system or as part of a networked system.

Out of box, Casio’s product comes with a sales management application offering a host of data management capabilities. Additional customer relationship management and reservation management apps can be installed to enable database management of the purchase history of individual customers. Finally, there’s the optional cash drawer that effectively transforms the terminal into a functional cash register…
