Toshl, which is my favorite personal finance tracking app, got an improved Android client. Version 1.6 has been redone from the ground up and comes with a number of new features, improved UI and that cute monster from the Toshl website.

Here’s what’s new:

  • Budgets – allows you to setup monthly budget for spending to be reminded when you’re breaking it. Pro users can also setup budgets for specific tags, as well as weekly and daily timespans, which is even better.
  • Support for foreign currencies
  • Recurring expenses – probably the single most required feature. You know you want your Internet, rent, gym and electricity expenses added automatically every month.
  • Passcode locking – your expenses are your damn thing and no one (without a passcode) should be able to access them.
  • Export from the mobile app – CSV for free users; and PDF, Excel and Google Docs for those with a Pro account.

Final note for existing Toshl users – backup your data first and THEN grab the new version…
