LG has officially announced upcoming Gingerbread update for its Optimus 3D smartphone. Aside from packing all the bells and whistles Android 2.3 packs — like improved power management, better copy/paste and UI tweaks — LG has also included some of its own software updates to the mix:
- First there’s the enhanced HSPA+ connectivity, providing download speeds of up to 21Mbps.
- Then there’s “Enriched 3D Experience” with 3D video editor and full-screen UI preview, allowing users to create and edit 2D as well as 3D movies right from their phones.
- Improved multimedia with 2D video stabilization which was previously only available in 3D mode.
Finally, the upgrade will also include additional features such as improved video recording and longer MP3 playback time.
LG will release the new software starting in Europe in the week of November 21, followed by other markets until the end of the year. Hopefully, we won’t have to wait much longer to get the Ice Cream Sandwich update as well.
