Charlie Brown Christmas app brings holiday cheer to iOS, Android

The Charlie Brown Christmas app is getting a lot of attention from folks looking for some fun Christmas apps this year. It turns the classic TV special from 1965 into an interactive experience on iPhones, iPads, and Android devices everywhere. The app acts as a digital pop-up book in which you can flip through pages and interact with the story as it progresses.

It includes dialogue from the original show and narration by Peter Robbins, the voice of Charlie Brown we’re all familiar with. Families can gather around and decorate the Charlie Brown Christmas Tree, listen and play along with music, interact with different objects on screen, and of course read through the timeless tale of Charlie Brown’s Christmas. There’s some educational aspects like word and musical note highlighting for the young’uns, too.

It’s good on smartphones and it’s unbelievably great on tablets. These types of apps are what iPads and other tablets are made for.

At $6.99, it’s a bit expensive in my opinion for an app you probably won’t even think about on December 26th but it’s wholeheartedly recommended for a healthy dose of holiday cheer this season. You can easily find it topping the charts in the iOS App Store, and in the Android Market and Amazon Appstore for Android.
