HTC responds to ITC ban, says infringement is easily fixed

The International Trade Commission ruled in favor of Apple yesterday when it found that HTC infringes on one of Apple’s patents in the US.  The regulatory body instituted a ban that will go into effect in April 2012. Instead of decrying the decision, the handset maker seemed please with the overall ruling. HTC points out that the judge threw out two of the four claims it had previously ruled were valid. The judge also found HTC infringed only one patent, not all of them.  The patent in question describes a small part of the UI can be easily fixed. HTC didn’t say when this fix will be available, but it appears the company will have the update on its handset before the ban goes into effect.
