Sprint and Samsung have finally started rolling out Android 2.3 Gingerbread update for the eco-friendly Replenish smartphone. The device that was launched in April of last year was shipping with Froyo on board and we’re glad it hasn’t been forgotten by the two companies.

The update, software version EK18, is rolled out in stages so don’t panic if you haven’t got it already. It will take up to 10 days to reach all Replenish users. Then, once it’s installed, you’ll get much improved copy/paste, better power management and the whole new Downloads manager, to name just a few features of Android 2.3. Moreover, there’s also an SMS messaging fix included in the package.

Can’t wait to get your Gingerbread fix? Proceed to this page at Sprint’s website to get all the instructions for performing the update – so you’re ready once it reaches you. 😉

And of course, make sure your battery is fully charged and that you’re connected to a fast Wi-Fi hotspot when updating.
