The Sims FreePlay makes itself at home on the Android Marketplace

Free-to-play has been a trend in mobile gaming for quite some time now and the next popular game to make the jump to the free-to-play realm is EA’s The Sims franchise. The game first hit iOS last month and EA has just announced the game has finally made the jump to the Android Marketplace.

If you’re unfamiliar with The Sims FreePlay but have played a The Sims game in the past, you’ll have no trouble getting accustomed to the free-to-play model. You’ll first need to create your Sim from one of 16 fully customizable Sims. Once your Sim is exactly how you like them, you’ll proceed to move them into their first home and from then on the game will have you complete a number of objectives such as buying a TV, extending your home, and throwing sexy parties.

The Sims FreePlay is completely free to play and only asks you to spend the precious time you have on this planet to play the game. Tending to your plants, taking a nap, even using the bathroom requires real-life time to complete. This might sound tedious to most people, but it doesn’t feel that way later on in the game when you control a number of Sims at the same time. While one Sim is watching a movie for 5 hours, you can be helping another Sim pick out a new bath tub.

The Sims has always done incredibly well on PC and by embracing the popular free-to-play model that’s succeeding on mobile devices, it’ll most likely end up doing very well on mobile.
