And we thought Alcatel has left the Western markets for good. Guess again, the company plans to unveil a new product at this year’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona – OT-915.
The low-end device has appeared at ElectricPig and will apparently be available in the UK by the end of this year. It’s a BlackBerry-like smartphone with a 2.8-inch QVGA touchscreen and full QWERTY keyboard beneath. Moreover, there’s a 5-megapixel camera on the back, Wi-Fi connectivity support, FM radio, while Android 2.3 Gingerbread is running the show.
Not a single word on pricing, but judging by the specs sheet, this little fella’ will go for some 100 GBP sans any strings attached. Alternatively, it may also be offered with a carrier contract in which case interested users will have to commit on a customer agreement that costs about 10-15 GBP per month. We’ll see…
