To celebrate the new iPad launch in Canada, Rogers Wireless has launched a neat campaign offering extra something to wannabe iPad owners. Whether you grab the brand new iPad 3 or the last-year model with 3G/4G connectivity and activate it on a Tablet Flex Rate Plan, the carrier will give you “unlimited data for the first 2 months, then double the data for the next 4 months”.
The data flex plans start at $5/month for 20MB, then increases to $17/month for 500MB, going up to $37/month for 10GB of data. If you pick a lower priced plan and go over your quota, you’ll slide to the next data tier, so you won’t be “surprised” with a huge bill. However, if you go over 10 gigs, the overage will be charged at 2 cents per additional MB.
Finally, Rogers is also waiving the SIM activation fee… Guess other operators in the country will follow with similar schemes too. We’ll see…
