Bedroom, bathroom, or elsewhere: where do you play mobile games?

Whether you’re a fun-loving teenager who just bought an iPod touch or a productive business professional with an iPad, don’t deny that you probably have at least one game on your iOS device. Even though iOS is a mobile platform, according to a survey from MocoSpace, most of us prefer to play these games at home.

MocoSpace, a mobile gaming community, surveyed over 15,000 people in the United States and discovered that 96 percent of respondents play mobile games at home and on a daily basis. The most popular room in the house is the bedroom — 53 percent of those who play games at home play in bed. 41 percent opt for the living room, 5 percent chose the bathroom and thankfully only 1 percent said play at the dining table. Stay classy, temple runners.

Out of the respondents who said they play games on the go, 83 percent said it’s while waiting for an appointment and 72 percent play during commute. Quite a few admitted to playing games in inappropriate situations. 64 percent have while with friends, 46 percent during class, and 10 percent during work — because who needs a social life, education, or job when you have birds in space to fling around?

Personally, I play most of my games at home because that’s when I have the most free time. I try not to in bed though because I don’t want my mind racing before trying to get some shut-eye. As for entertainment outside the boundaries of my house, I must say I am guilty of playing games during class. A lot.

What about you? Do you play games at home for leisure, at the office to relieve stress, or elsewhere? Weigh in with your comments below.
