Starting today, Amazon is pushing out version 6.3 of its Android software to the Kindle Fire. This latest update adds several new features including book passage and note sharing, book extras, movie rentals and other performance enhancements. The new sharing feature lets readers select their favorite passage and share it with other Kindle users who are reading the same book. You can also share with Twitter or Facebook.
Besides sharing, books will now include book extras which is additional content like character descriptions, glossary terms, and location information in the book. There’s also a new reading view that’s similar to readability. Kindle owners can select the reading view to remove the clutter and view the article in a format that’s optimized for reading. And if you’re a Kindle Fire owners that use their tablet for more than reading will be pleased to discover a new movie rental option that kicks off the movie rental period when the user starts watching the movie and not when it is downloaded.
