Azumio — the company behind mobile biofeedback apps like Stress Check, Stress Doctor and Instant Heart Rate — launched new iOS product, Sleep Time, that senses your subtle movements throughout the night, graphs your sleep cycles and wakes you up at the best possible time. By relying on iPhone’s built-in accelerometer, the application will make you feel refreshed and empowered.
During your sleep you go through few phases: Awake, Light Sleep and Deep sleep plus REM (Rapid Eye Movement – the stage where dreaming occurs). The average healthy person is awake approximately 10% of a normal sleep cycle time with Deep plus REM making up 55% and Light equaling 35%. Sleep Time lets you graph how your sleep patterns change over time and how they equate with a normal sleep pattern.
The tech mambo-jumbo that goes inside the app was made possible thanks to collaboration with researchers from Stanford University, which I guess should give an added assurance that Sleep Time will work for you. Grab it now and let us know how it goes…
