Hipmunk now integrates with your calendar, makes sure you book the right flight and hotel nearby events you're attending

Hipmunk updated its iOS and Android apps to make them even smarter. Thanks to the new calendar integration, the application knows your schedule and will include that information in the flight and hotel booking process. So when you conduct your flight search, calendar events will appear as vertical lines under the flights that conflict. Moreover, you’ll also see the title of the event at the bottom. If you’re ok with missing some meetings, continue on to book per usual; or go back and select another non-conflicting flight.

Hotel booking is also changed and now you’ll see events plotted on the map alongside hotel results so you can visualize hotels in relation to events and obligations. Your events are shown by a gold flag with the date of the event highlighted. Pretty neat when you think about it.

Finally, it’s worth adding that Hipmunk doesn’t save your personal information to its servers – your calendar and meeting information stay on the phone.
