Nintendo designer Shigeru Miyamoto talked with the Edge and the conversation turned to Rovio’s smash smartphone hit Angry Birds. Miyamoto, who only casually follows smartphone titles, had good things to say about the bird-flinging game.

“What I like about Angry Birds is that it has a traditional videogame [feel] to it, but also a very creative side. And you can really feel that they’re having fun developing the game. That’s what I like about it.”

Miyamoto is well-known in the video game industry for his work on Mario, Donkey Kong, The Legend of Zelda and the Wii. You can read the rest of the interview on the Edge’s website.
