Jumio, which we know for their technology that turns webcams into card and ID readers, launched the Mobile SDK, allowing developers to add credit card scanning capabilities to their apps.
The new Netswipe Mobile Software Development Kit is touted as a fast and easy way to implement credit card capturing into mobile apps with no extra hardware needed. At the moment, it’s available for iOS only, with the Android version developing as we speak.
Aside from the SDK, Jumio is also “pumping” $5 million in scanning fees into startups which decide to use the SDK. As a result, for a limited time interested developers will get credit card processing for free. Kinda neat and pretty useful when you think about it – not everyone likes inputting credit card information on their phone(s), right?
Anyway, the Netswipe Mobile SDK is now available for download from Jumio’s website.
