To celebrate the two-year anniversary of the Fruit Ninja launch, Halfbrick will update its flagship game on May 24th. New version, which initially will target iOS users, will bring a number of features, including the time-increasing peach as well as “highly explosive” berries. Moreover, fictional “Starfruit” will be added to the mix to be used as a currency for purchasing items from Gutsu’s cart.
That said, Fruit Ninja will also get some sort of in-game shop from where you will be able to purchase power-ups and “never before seen super fruit.” Halfbrick hasn’t mentioned anything about in-app purchases, but I’m afraid that’s the way they’ll go, eventually trying to milk out additional cents and dollars from the game’s huge fan base.
But that’s not all. Savvy ninjas will be able to perform a new move called Bomb Deflect, which we guess will make it easier to handle a full screen of fruits with a bomb or two hardly noticeable in the bunch.
Again, the day is set at May 24th, when you should check the AppStore to get the latest (and greatest) version of Fruit Ninja. 😉
