Starting today, Because We May is offering a huge sale on a very long list of apps from a variety of developers in the iOS App Store, Mac App Store, Google Play, and Steam in celebration of the ability to freely price games the way developers choose.
On its website, Because We May writes, “We believe that developers should have the freedom to price their games how they like, without interference from the online stores that sell the games. Why? Because it allows us to promote our games more freely, as we are doing here!”
Some examples of the games on sale are Osmos for iPad, World of Goo HD, Waking Mars, Smiles and Cogs for iPad, all of which are dropping from their original $4.99 price down to $1.99 — and those are just iOS and Android apps. Mac App Store and Steam apps like World of Goo, Osmos, and Scoregasm are now $2.99, down all the way from $9.99. You can see the full list on Because We May’s web page.
The sale lasts until June 1st, but Because We May is encouraging more developers to quickly join in by discounting their apps to help get the message across. There’s a form on the website that any developer can fill out to acknowledge that they are putting their app(s) on sale for this cause and get them featured on Because We May’s website.
There’s no better time to do some online game shopping with this sale in place, so start browsing on your computer, tablet, or smartphone to take advantage of these excellent deals.
