Zynga has teamed-up with American Express to launch the Zynga Serve Rewards program, which is tied to the Serve digital wallet and is touted to “break new ground in the prepaid card market” by offering in-game incentives for everyday spending.
As a result of this co-operation, FarmVille players have the ability to plant an interactive Serve Money Tree in their Farms that will give them the ability to level up in game and earn Zynga Farm Cash for virtual awards redemption. Once the tree is placed, users will be prompted to take the following steps to earn Farm Cash through July 31, 2012:
- Register for the Zynga Serve Rewards program to receive a Zynga Serve co-branded prepaid card in the mail.
- Add money to the Serve account.
- Activate the card online or by calling the activations line.
- Use the Zynga Serve Rewards card to buy stuff in the U.S. For the first 5 purchases of $25 or more, users get Farm Cash rewards.
As the program expands, all purchases will receive in-game rewards tracked through an in-game dashboard… Kinda neat, especially for savvy online farmers. 😉
