Samsung finally launches the Galaxy Note 10.1, adds 1.4GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, and Smart Stay

Today Samsung has finally made the Galaxy Note 10.1-inch official. The larger Note is expected to hit shelves worldwide sometime this month. The stylus-equipped Android tablet will feature some boastful features like a 1.4GHz quad-core Exynos processor and 2GB of RAM. Recently we got a glimpse at the unreleased 10.1-inch Note courtesy of an unboxing by The Brave Post. Now folks in the United States, United Kingdom, Korea, and Germany, followed by other markets, can get their hands on the tablet in August.

Other than the improvements to its body, such as a stylus slot and expandable microSD slot for up to additional 64 gigs, consumers can bank on many software additions the smaller Note lacked. For instance, users can expect to see Sammy’s eye detection feature called Smart Stay, which was first found in the Galaxy S III. Moreover, customers will get “multiscreen” support for these small number of built-in apps: Polaris Office, S Note, Video Player, Gallery, and Email.

So far there’s no word as to what customers in the U.S. should expect, but our money is betting that the company will set the record straight at its August 15th press conference in New York City. We also wouldn’t be surprised if Sammy announces the Galaxy Note II, which has been hitting the interwebs with rumors galore. It seems like many companies are trying to announce as much of its new products as it can, before Apple sucks up all the oxygen with its much-anticipated release of the new iPhone.
