Korea Telecom is working on an awesome hardware that promises to usher the new era in mobile computing. It’s a laptop computer that has no memory, no CPU and no OS inside it, relying instead on an Android smartphone to provide the intelligence. In that sense, KT calls it the smartphone accessory that provides users with a larger screen and full-sized keyboard, something Motorola and Asus (with their Padfone) have been offering for quite some time. However, KT says that thanks to their own software, smartphone and laptop connect using a single “MHL cable.” Needless to say, KT applied for a patent on this technology.

KT said that it plans to launch a low-priced model and cooperate with many manufacturers to introduce various versions of Spider Laptop. At the same time, the carrier will continue to expand the smartphone models that can be connected to Spider Laptop.

Love how it sounds and I can’t wait to give it a try. 🙂
