Looks like Casio is preparing to enter the smart watch space with a new G-Shock model that will enable users to control their smartphones via Bluetooth 4.0. This, of course, is everything but a new concept with companies like Sony (with its SmartWatch) and Pebble already offering similar products.

According to The Korea Herald, the upcoming accessory will let its owners check incoming calls, emails and text messages. Furthermore, there will be a special button that triggers an alarm on your smartphone, allowing you to quickly locate it if it has been misplaced.

We don’t know whether Casio’s watch will work only with their smartphones and can only hope that won’t be the case. After all, they’re not really a big handset maker and would lose a lot by taking that route. We’ll let you know as soon as we hear something new on this. Stay tuned…
