Sony’s PlayStation Mobile Store will launch on October 3, offering PlayStation-like content to a variety of popular mobile devices. The service will start with around 30 games in 9 countries including Japan, United States, Canada, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Australia with more countries and more content to follow.

Sony also announced that Fujitsu and Sharp will join the PlayStation Certified license program, offering great games to its customer base in Japan and other countries — presuming any of the two companies launches a global handset.

But that’s not all, the PlayStation Mobile Developer Program, which includes the official version of PlayStation Mobile SDK, will become available to the development community in November. It will be rolled-out in a phased manner in 11 countries and regions including Japan, United States, Canada, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Australia, Hong Kong and Taiwan. The PlayStation Mobile Developer Program requires developers to purchase the license agreement for the SDK, which costs $99 per year.
