Motorola Atrix 4G, Photon 4G and Electrify won't get the ICS update, after all

Motorola decided that some of its smartphones won’t get their serving of Ice Cream Sandwich. Among users who will be abandoned by the company’s decisions are Atrix 4G, Photon 4G and Electrify. We’re kinda surprised with Moto flip-flopping on this one, but I guess the mentioned trio doesn’t have what it takes to “properly” run Android 4.0 — i.e. it could make the phones slower. If you can’t live with that decision and don’t want to spend extra cash on the new phone, you can always take the “unofficial route” and dig your way to the newer version of Android with the help of the hacking community at XDA-Developers or some other site. Make sure you know what you’re doing though, cause something could always go wrong, potentially bricking your beloved device. And besides, Gingerbread with Moto customizations singing on top of it is still a pretty decent choice for a majority of users…
