We don’t get to write a lot about Chinese handset maker Newman, but their latest device definitely caught our attention. The soon-to-be-released Newman N2 will pack a ton of good stuff, including a 4.7-inch 720p HD touchscreen, 13-megapixel camera on the back, though only 8GB of built-in storage. But wait, there’s more – this little fella will get its power from the 1.5 GHz Samsung Exynos 4412 quad-core processor, which is the same one used in the Galaxy S III. And that’s not all, all this will be available for 1,499 yuan, which translates into some $240. Talk about the value for money. Yeah, it runs Ice Cream Sandwich (rather than Jelly Bean) but we’re sure an update will be released shortly to address this.

When it comes to the design, Newman is currently running a contest allowing potential owners to select the right look and feel for the phone. Hopefully, we’ll soon hear something about the company’s export plans…
