It sounds unlikely that Virgin Mobile, what one would normally disregard as a discount phone outlet, would get a smartphone as new as the BlackBerry Storm, but it’s a tip floating up alongside info of their rates rising by $5/each. Apparently Virgin Mobile Canada hasn’t been doing so well since launching in ’05, so the increased charges, including a $35 activation fee that they didn’t have before, are somewhat warranted. If they do, in fact, bring out the BlackBerry 9530, it might just be the shot in the arm their product line needs. Their plans are decent, and though their device selection is a little lackluster, they have been fairly gung-ho about BlackBerry, hosting both the Pearl 8130 and Curve 8330… Maybe the Storm isn’t that far-fetched…
