Sony Xperia advance, which is known in Europe as Xperia go, is now available in the US, Sony said in a press release. As I’m writing this, we’ve caught the device at Newegg’s website, which is selling it for $259.99 sans any commitments.
Announced alongside Xperia acro S, the Sony Xperia advance is a tough product promising to deliver the “highest level of dust and water resistance available on any Android smartphone.” The IP67-certified phone also has a scratch-resistant mineral glass display, while boasting such specs as 1GHz dual-core processor, 3.5-inch HVGA screen, 5-megapixel camera on the back, Wi-Fi, and support for AT&T’s 3G network. At $260, we can’t really recommend buying one as just $40 gets you the cheaper version of Nexus 4. Then again, some of you may need the extra ruggedness in their daily endeavors and don’t mind having a mediocre device to support your lifestyle…
